Ag Partners explosion

The Sheldon Fire Co. was called out to a reported explosion at Ag Partners Inc. on Friday, June 14.

SHELDON—There was a minor explosion in Sheldon on the morning of Friday, June 14, according to Sheldon Fire Co. first assistant chief Brad Hindt.

The incident took place at the Ag Partners Inc. complex along Second Avenue in Sheldon; however, no injuries were reported. As a precaution, Ag Partners, as well as some neighboring businesses and residences, were evacuated.

When Sheldon firefighters arrived at Ag Partners, no smoke or flames were visible, but there were reports of damage to several structures at the facility.

Hindt said firefighters from Sheldon were on the scene for about three and half hours and returned to the station shortly before 1 p.m.
