SIBLEY—An 18-year-old Melvin man was arrested about 2:15 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, on charges of first-offense operating while under the influence, first-offense possession of a controlled substance — marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding in Sibley.

The arrest of Hunter Nicholas Lee Noerenberg stemmed from the stop of a 2000 GMC Jimmy for speeding on the 200 block of 12th Street, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

Noerenberg admitted he had smoked marijuana about 20 minutes earlier and he was in possession of marijuana and rolling papers, according to court documents.

He was evaluated by a drug recognition expert who determined Noerenberg was under the influence of cannabis.
