SIBLEY—A 31-year-old Round Lake, MN, man was arrested about 7:40 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, in Sibley on charges of fourth-degree criminal mischief and third-degree harassment.

The arrest of Gerald Douglas Simpson stemmed from an incident at Jackrabbit Junction in Sibley.

He “made multiple comments about how he wanted to punch the victim in the head because

he was mad at” the individual, according to the incident report.

The individual was unable to call for help because Simpson took the individual’s cellphone, so the individual went inside the convenience store for safety.

Simpson, while agitated, also struck the radio display in the individual’s vehicle multiple times, causing $300-$750 damage, according to the incident report.
