ROCK VALLEY—A 39-year-old Rock Valley man was arrested Thursday, Aug. 15, on a charge of first-offense domestic abuse assault.
The arrest of Rodrigo Lopez-Cortes stemmed from him allegedly driving to the Rock Valley home of his wife, with whom he is separated, and getting into an argument over a cellphone at about 6:20 p.m., according to the Rock Valley Police Department.
Lopez-Cortes allegedly bit the woman on the wrist and grabbed her sweatshirt on the shoulder, according to court documents. He let go when the woman grabbed a knife that was next to her.
A no contact order was issued against Lopez-Cortes with the woman.
Note: An earlier version of this post incorrectly described the woman as Rodrigo Lopez-Cortes' girlfriend in the headline.
