ASHTON—A 24-year-old Little Rock man was arrested Wednesday, Oct. 13, on a Lyon County warrant in connection with a one-vehicle accident about 3 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, on the 2500 mile of Marsh Avenue about six miles southwest of Ashton.

Victor Lewi was driving south on the gravel road when he lost control of his 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada, which entered the east ditch and rolled several times, coming to rest in a field of standing corn, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.

Lewi was transported to Avera Merrill Pioneer Hospital in Rock Rapids.

His vehicle was totaled.

About one-half acre of standing corn was damaged.

Lewi had bloodshot, watery eyes and the odor of an alcoholic beverage.

He admitted to drinking while he was driving, according to the incident report.

An open can of Budweiser was found in the wrecked vehicle.

He was charged with first-offense operating while under the influence; reckless driving; possession of open container of alcohol; failure to maintain control; failure to maintain or use safety belt; and driving while his license was denied, suspended, canceled or revoked.

A warrant for his arrest was issued Oct. 13.
