PRIMGHAR—A 37-year-old LeMars man was arrested Monday, June 3, on a charge of third-degree theft.

The arrest of Lucas Christopher Bloebaum stemmed from him earning the bid on a Hamm’s Beer sign for $1,000 at an estate auction in rural Primghar on March 30 and then leaving with the sign without paying for it, according to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office.

Vander Werff & Associates, which conducted the estate auction, attempted to contact Bloebaum by phone certified mail and social media but was unsuccessful.

A warrant for Bloebaum’s arrest was issued May 29.
