IRETON—A 27-year-old LeMars man was arrested about 3:05 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, near Ireton on charges of first-offense operating while under the influence, possession with the intent to deliver psilocybin mushrooms and possession with the intent to deliver marijuana.

The arrest of Tyler John Dimmick stemmed from the stop of a 2008 Dodge Caravan for speeding and a turn signal violation on Dipper Avenue, four miles southwest of Ireton, according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.

The odor of raw marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle.

A search of the van produced a sandwich bag containing mushrooms consistent with psilocybin

mushrooms, two bags of a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana and a scale, according to the incident report.

Dimmick had bloodshot, watery eyes and it was suspected he was under the influence of a drug.
