HARTLEY—A 31-year-old LeMars man was arrested Sunday, Sept. 5, in Hartley on a charge of first-offense domestic abuse assault resulting in injury or mental illness.
The arrest of Victor Arthur Fischer stemmed from an argument with his wife while he was driving a 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan on Highway 18 in Hartley about 8:15 p.m., according to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s office.
Both individuals had been drinking as they were celebrating her birthday and by the time the argument was over, his wife was missing a front tooth and Fischer had a cut on his finger, according to court documents.
They told the authorities they were uncertain how they received their injuries.
A no contact order was issued against Fischer with his wife.
