REGIONAL—Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will offer opportunities to attend the Private Pesticide Applicator Continuing Instruction Course, led by Extension field agronomist Joel DeJong.

Here are the sessions scheduled for N’West Iowa:

  • 9:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9, at the American Legion in Paullina.
  • 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at the Forster Community Center in Rock Rapids.
  • 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at First Presbyterian Church in Sibley.
  • 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at the Sioux County Extension office in Orange City.
  • 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at the Sioux County Extension office in Orange City.
  • 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, at the Inwood Community Center.
  • 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at the Sioux County Extension office in Orange City.
  • 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at the Northwest Research and Demonstration Farm near Sutherland.
  • 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, at the George Community Center.
  • 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, at First Presbyterian Church in Sibley.
  • 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon.

The course will run for about two hours and fulfill 2019 recertification requirements for private pesticide applicators.

Topics to be covered include safe handling and storage of pesticides, laws and regulations, personal protective equipment, pests, pest management and pesticides.

Registration is $20.
