SIBLEY—An inmate at the Osceola County Jail in Sibley faces an additional charge after an incident about 10:05 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office reported an inmate buzzed dispatch asking that 52-year-old Jeffrey Scott Ferdig of Carroll be removed from his cell because he choked him.
Upon reviewing the footage, law enforcement observed Ferdig choke the other inmate and take him to the ground.
The other inmate’s neck was red and he had blood coming from his nose.
When asked for the reason why he did it, Ferdig stated, “Because,” according to the incident report.
Ferdig was charged with willful injury — causing bodily injury.
He was in jail on charges of first-degree theft, third-degree robbery and operating without the owner’s consent.
