Sioux County Sheriff's Office shoulder patch

NEWKIRK—The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident in Newkirk.

A vehicle struck the rear of a parked and unattended 2011 Chevrolet Silverado pickup at Newkirk Reformed Church.

The striking vehicle was described by a witness as possibly a silver 2010 Chevrolet Impala last seen leaving the area with extensive front-end and right-side damage.

The pickup received an estimated $1,000 damage.

Law enforcement investigated the incident about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12.
