HAWARDEN—An 18-year-old Hawarden resident was arrested about 4:15 p.m. Saturday, April 29, on a charge of fifth-degree theft.

The arrest of Devin Lee Short stemmed from him being identified as having acquired gas for his 2004 Chevrolet Impala at Quick Corner in Hawarden and departing without paying on multiple occasions for a sum less than $300, according to Hawarden Police Department.
