HAWARDEN—A 44-year-old Hawarden man was arrested Monday, July 29, on a Sioux County warrant on a charge of second-degree theft.
The arrest of Jeffery Scott Mueller stemmed from surveillance footage showing him entering Central Catering in Hawarden and two vehicles about 10:25 p.m. Friday, July 5.
He took restaurant-related items and a nozzle for a pressure washer from the property, according to court documents. The items were valued at more than $2,000.
Mueller is in the restaurant business and had been removed from Central Catering’s property previously and told he is not allowed on the property since his termination, according to court documents.
A warrant for his arrest was issued July 23.
