HAWARDEN—A 33-year-old Hawarden man was arrested Saturday, Aug. 17, on charges of second-offense domestic abuse assault, child endangerment and obstruction of emergency communications.
The arrest of Jordan Richotte stemmed from the Hawarden Police Department responding to a report of domestic disturbance in progress about 5:50 p.m. on the 2300 block of Avenue L.
A woman at the location told authorities she was arguing with Richotte and it began to get physical. She said she attempted to call 911, but Richotte took her phone and destroyed it.
The woman had blood all over her face and clothing and was using a towel to cover her face, according to court documents.
The woman sustained a fractured nose during the altercation.
There were three children present during the assault. They observed the incident and fled the residence to call 911, according to court documents.
A no contact order was issued against Richotte with the woman.
