ROCK RAPIDS—A 43-year-old George man was arrested about 10:50 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, in Rock Rapids on a charge of public intoxication.

The arrest of Jeremy Alan Gruis stemmed from him being observed walking along the shoulder of Highway 75 in Rock Rapids, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.

He was known to be intoxicated as law enforcement had dealt with him earlier in the day.

Gruis was found to still be under the influence of alcohol, according to the incident report.

He also was found to be wanted on a Lyon County warrant for four counts of first-offense possession of a controlled substance.

The warrant stemmed from an incident on Monday, March 13, in which he was found in possession of anabolic steroids following a verbal altercation with his mother at their residence at 609 E. Iowa Ave. in George.
