GEORGE—A 36-year-old George man was arrested about noon Monday, Dec. 2, on a charge of second-offense operating while under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The arrest of Michael Ron Lottman stemmed from the stop of a 2016 Chrysler 300 at the intersection of Dakota Avenue and Wilhelm Street in George, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

The trooper could detect the odor of marijuana and Lottman admitted he had a pipe and grinder in his vehicle and a small amount of marijuana would be inside the two items, according to court documents.

Lottman also said he had smoked marijuana at about 8 a.m., something he does regularly for pain and nausea.
