HARTLEY—A 23-year-old Hartley man was arrested about 11:05 p.m. Friday, April 2, on charges of first-offense operating while under the influence and possession of an open container of alcohol.
The arrest of Romeo Israel Morales Ramos stemmed from a report about a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro being driven erratically, according to the Hartley Police Department.
An officer spotted the eastbound vehicle on Highway 18 and stopped it near the North Seventh Avenue West intersection for crossing the centerline, according to the incident report.
Morales Ramos had slurred speech, impaired balance and the odor of an alcoholic beverage and failed preliminary sobriety tests, according to the incident report.
He also was in possession of an open container of alcohol.
