MELVIN—Eight people were injured in a collision about 11:55 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, at the intersection of Highway 59 and 220th Street about five miles northwest of Melvin.
Twenty-nine-year-old Kelsey Jo Conner of Omaha, NE, was driving west on 220th when she failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection and her 2015 Chevrolet Traverse was struck broadside by a northbound 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by 24-year-old Thressa Joan Clark of Sibley, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
The two vehicles came to rest on a property in the northwest corner of the intersection.
Conner was issued a citation for failure to obey stop sign.
Clark, an adult female passenger and three juvenile passengers were transported by the Ashton Ambulance and Sibley Ambulance to Osceola Community Hospital.
Conner and two juvenile passengers were transported by the Sibley Ambulance to Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.
The Conner vehicle received an estimated $15,000 damage.
The Clark vehicle received an estimated $10,000 damage.
The corner property received an estimated $1,500 damage.
