MELVIN—A 27-year-old Denver man was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, in Melvin on a charge of first-offense possession of a controlled substance — marijuana.
The arrest of Tyler Cody Hunt stemmed from the stop of a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix for a burnt-out taillight on North Street in Melvin, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
The deputy detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Upon questioning, Hunt admitted to having a THC vape pen in his pocket. He said he did not have anything else in his vehicle, but the deputy found THC vape juice, to which Hunt said “I forgot that was in there,” according to the incident report.
