LARCHWOOD—A 45-year-old Renner, SD, woman was arrested about 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, on a charge of third-offense operating while under the influence.
The arrest of April Dawn Fish stemmed from an investigation into a report of a vehicle parked in the driveway of Meyer Electric northwest of Larchwood, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
The caller reported the driver appeared passed out behind the while with the vehicle running.
A deputy found a 2009 GMC Acadia parked and running where indicated with Fish asleep in the driver’s seat. The window was open and she had a can of Bud Ice beer between her legs. The radio was blaring and the heat was on in the vehicle.
After waking Fish, the deputy observed she had bloodshot eyes, the odor of an alcoholic beverage and slurred speech and she failed preliminary field sobriety tests, according to court documents.
