SIOUX CENTER—A 56-year-old Hudson, SD, man faces charges following a report of a belligerent customer at Casey’s General Store in Sioux Center about 9:30 p.m. Sunday, July 7.
Gary Lee Harskamp allegedly entered the Casey’s and asked for air to fill his tires.
He knew the employee behind the counter and started shouting at the employee because Harskamp said that the employee sent his wife pictures of his genitalia, according to court documents filed by the Sioux Center Police Department.
Harskamp then caused a disturbance and used abusive epithets.
Harskamp was found to smell of alcohol, had slurred speech and braced his vehicle, a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe, when exiting and walking around to the front of it.
He admitted to taking three hydrocodone pills throughout the day and drinking a combination of beer and vodka as well, according to court documents.
The trailer he was pulling behind his vehicle was found to have license plates from another trailer and the trailer did not have rear lamps.
Harskamp was arrested on charges of first-offense operating while under the influence, disorderly conduct — abusive epithet/threatening gesture, public intoxication, failure to have proof of insurance, fraudulent use of registration and improper rear lamps.
