ASHTON—A 19-year-old rural Ashton resident has been charged in connection with three thefts that occurred in late July in Osceola County
Isaiah Steven Frederick was charged Monday, Sept. 2, with first-degree theft, second-degree theft, third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
Frederick allegedly took a 2004 Yamaha Raptor all-terrain vehicle from a residence near Ashton sometime July 19-24 and repainted it.
He allegedly took a 2016 Arctic Cat 450 ATV taken from a residence near Sibley on July 26 and took several ATV helmets, goggles, nine handguns and ammunition in a burglary at 59 Power Sports east of Sibley.
After investigating complaints about the thefts, authorities identified Frederick as a suspect.
A deputy met with Frederick on July 27 and the teenager admitted to the thefts and burglary of the business as well as destroying surveillance equipment at 59 Power Sports, according to court documents.
All of the stolen property was recovered although some of it was damaged while in Frederick’s possession, according to court documents.
His initial court date has been set for 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, in the Osceola County Courthouse in Sibley.
