SHELDON—A 30-year-old Sheldon man was arrested about 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, on charges of fifth-degree theft and fifth-degree criminal mischief.
The arrest of Axel Joel Rodriguez-Gracia stemmed from him taking a bicycle from outside another’s residence, according to the Sheldon Police Department.
Rodriguez-Gracia admitted he then slashed the tires and disposed of the bicycle in a garbage dumpster at Northpark Apartments, according to the incident report.
The estimated cost of replacing the two tires is $60.
Rodriguez-Gracia pleaded guilty to the two charges the next day in O’Brien County District Court in Primghar and was ordered to pay a fine of $105 for each charge, $60 restitution, a $31.50 surcharge and $60 in other court-related costs.
