Hull Summerfest Parade

Hull hosts Summerfest Celebration July 10-13

Celebrate good times in Hull.

Once again this year, Hull will be hosting its annual Summerfest celebration on July 10-13. The four-day event is sure to have something for everyone in the family.

According to the schedule of events, Hull’s Summerfest kicks off on Wednesday, July 10, in the evening with a car and tractor show, an extrication demonstration by the local fire department and the EMTs and a bean bag tournament.

Thursday, July 11, will feature Music in the Park at Westside Park and a mud volleyball junior tournament.

The next day will see a golf tournament at Rolling Hills Country Club, Hull Fire Department’s burger supper, more mud volleyball but for adults this time, a cruise night and a performance of “The Story of Velveteen Rabbit.” The evening will wrap up with family movie night at the First Reformed Church’s parking lot. The movie will be “The Greatest Showman.”

Saturday, July 13, will offer up fun all day long.

The day will start with a carb load at the American Legion Pancake Breakfast and will be quickly followed by the Run Wild for a Child 5K and 1-mile fun run/walk.

Then at 10 a.m. is the event every child waits for. It’s parade time, and they say it is the “biggest candy parade in northwest Iowa.”

The parade is follow up with vendors in the park and a free kids carnival complete with inflatables, a petting zoo, dunk tank and games. There will also be food vendors, a pedal tractor pull, another performance of “The Story of Velveteen Rabbit” and bingo.

Hull’s Summerfest Celebration will wrap up with the 7th annual Tailgating Cook-off at the Rolling Hills Golf Course, where a number of different cooks will share their best dishes. The proceeds are being donated to the Hull Fire Department.

According to their website, the event is truly a community effort.

“Many of the events are sponsored by the Hull Area Chamber of Commerce but a lot of the fun activities are hosted by community groups, schools and area churches.”
