Round Lake Vineyard hosts 5K fundraiser on Sept. 27

What’s the perfect way to end a 5K?

Round Lake Vineyards & Winery believe it’s with a glass of wine.

They will once again be hosting their annual RunB4Wine 5K fundraising event on Sunday, Sept. 27.

“RunB4Wine 5K is in memory of precious four-month-old Big Brave Benjamin Bruce who went home to heaven for healing after fighting a heroic battle against an enterovirus which caused his liver to fail,” according to the vineyard’s website. “Proceeds go to the Big Brave Benjamin Bruce fund which assists families of chronically ill children at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s hospital pediatric ICU.”

“Like Benjamin, many babies and children at the U of M Masonic have been diagnosed with potentially fatal illnesses and their hospital stay is likely to extend over several months. The medical teams at the U of M Masonic put” tremendous effort into saving the lives of children, often using medications and treatments which have never been tried before.

The entry fee for the run is $30 and preregistration for the race is requested. All the information can be found on Round Lake Vineyards & Winery’s website at

Each participant will receive a free glass of wine for those 21 years and older following the race.

The day starts with an ecumenical worship service at 9 a.m. at The Cellar and all are welcome to join.

The check-in time for the race starts at 10 a.m. and the race is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. One water station will be located along the route.

The race will cover the vineyards grounds and will include a variety of surfaces including grass, gravel and pavement.

Whether you run, walk or jog this 5K, you will know nothing sweeter than when you finish and know you’ve done something for a great cause, plus you get to top it off with a glass of wine.
