HULL—A teenager was injured in a fiery collision about 7:55 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at the intersection of 350th Street and Indian Avenue, five miles southeast of Hull.
Gregory Donald Lammers, 31, LeMars, was driving a 2009 Peterbilt semitruck pulling a cattle trailer east on 350th when he collided with a northbound 2008 Buick Lucerne driven by Sydney Te Slaa, 16, Orange City, according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
The truck and trailer entered the east ditch where it came to rest and started on fire.
Members of the Hull Fire Department were able to extinguish the fire a short time later.
Te Slaa was transported by the Hull Ambulance to Sioux Center Health. No other injuries were reported.
Lammers was cited for failure to yield to a vehicle on the right. The semi and trailer received an estimated $50,000 damage.
The Te Slaa vehicle received an estimated $8,000 damage.
