SHELDON—MercyMe, one of the best-selling Christian acts of all time, has been announced as the Saturday headliner for RiseFest 2018 in Sheldon.

The band will make its fourth appearance at RiseFest coming off of the box office success from its first feature film “I Can Only Imagine.”

“We’re so grateful to have them again” said Rob Roozeboom, president and founder of Rise Ministries, which puts on the annual Christian music and praise festival every Father’s Day weekend.

RiseFest 2018 will be June 15-16.

“Saturday just keeps getting better with Riley Clemmons, Jaci Velasquez, We Are Messengers, Jordan Feliz and Jeremy Camp, to name a few, and now we get to close Saturday night with MercyMe!” Roozeboom said. “Their song ‘I Can Only Imagine’ is now a movie and doing fantastic! If you haven’t been to it, I highly recommend going, it’s worth it!

“With RiseFest roughly two months away we can’t wait to see what God is going to do!”

In 2009, Billboard named MercyMe’s “Word of God Speak” the No. 1 Song of The Decade and the group the No. 1 Artist of the Decade in both the Christian Songs and Christian AC Songs categories, recognizing it as one of the industry’s most notable talents.
