ALTON—The Orange City Police Department reported the arrest of Trey Michael Beltman, 23, Orange City, on Tuesday, Jan. 8, on charges of a controlled substance violation, second-offense possession of controlled substance — marijuana, unlawful possession of prescription drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The charges stem from a search warrant executed on Beltman’s 2006 Chrysler Pacifica about 10:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at the intersection of Highway 10 and Jefferson Avenue in Alton.
A locked black Sentry Safe was located behind the driver’s seat. Beltman gave consent to retrieve the key for the safe and search the contents.
While searching the safe, an iPhone 6 box was found. Inside the box were two small baggies of methamphetamine and a pill bottle containing eight tablets of quetiapine, which Beltman did not have a prescription for.
A joint containing marijuana was found in the sunglasses holder in the front driver/passenger compartment headliner.
A scale with marijuana residue was found on the front passenger seat. A container with three hypodermic needles used to inject drugs were located on the floor by the driver seat. A second scale used to weigh drugs was located in the safe.
