ALTON—The Sioux County Sheriff’s Department reported the arrest of Dean Joseph Meis, 35, Hospers, about 1:15 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, on a charge of first-offense operating while under the influence in Alton.
According to court records, the deputy initially witnessed a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado swerving while traveling north on Third Avenue in Alton.
When the deputy turned around to investigate, the vehicle turned east on Ninth Street and accelerated, then turn north on Second Avenue.
