REGIONAL—The O’Brien County Conservation Board again will partner with the public libraries in the county to offer winter programming.

Naturalist Charlene Elyea will present programs during the months of January, February and March at the libraries in Archer, Hartley, Paullina, Primghar, Sanborn, Sheldon and Sutherland.

The theme for January’s program is “Color Chaos.” All programs are open to all ages and last about 45 minutes with time for questions afterward.

For “Color Chaos,” Elyea will brighten the doldrums of the winter season with a burst of color. The presentation will look at how color is used in nature by plants and animals.

The program will include some hands-on experiments to explore how people see color. Audience members are sure to walk away refreshed and ready to seek out color even in the winter landscape.

The remaining “Color Chaos” programs will be held:

  • 6:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at the Sheldon Public Library.
  • 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the Paullina Public Library.
  • 3-4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Hartley Public Library.
  • 2-3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Primghar Public Library.
