Falcon cheerleaders to collect donations

West Sioux Falcon football cheerleaders, players and coaches ask Falcon fans to support fundraising efforts of South Central Calhoun's kicker to raise funds for childhood cancer research.

HAWARDEN—Heading to Lake City, Friday, Nov. 2, the West Sioux Falcon cheerleaders will be ready to cheer the 9-1 Falcon football team on to a hopeful return trip to the dome. The Falcons will face the 10-0 South Central Calhoun Titans in a 7 p.m. kickoff.

The Titans junior kicker, Zane Neubaum, has led fundraising efforts with his right leg, kicking in memory of the teams former team manager Jacy McAlexander. McAlexander died earlier this year from cancer. All funds raised throughout the season will go to research for childhood cancer. Neubaum has well surpassed his initial $1,000 goal with roughly $5,200 already being raised this season.

In an effort to show support to the opposing team, Falcon fans are encouraged to bring donations to the football game. West Sioux Cheerleaders will pass donation buckets around the West Sioux stands toward the end of the 1st quarter, to support Neubaum’s fundraising efforts in memory of former South Central Calhoun student Jacy McAlexander.
